Grand Vin De Bordeaux
The 2005 Ambassade de Sauternes is a bright gold colour. Perfectly balanced. Not sweet, and yet explosively sweet with flavors of fresh nectarine, scents of jasmine and honeysuckle. The sweetness pours out of the freshness, so it's impossible to taste them apart. The flavors last, perhaps because it's the kind of wine you'll want to roll around in your mouth over and over.

*** 95 Points - Robert Parker ***
From the classic 2005 vintage this is one of the greatest Chateau Branaire-Ducru's bottled and a flamboyant and expressive example of St Julien. Highly rated by the critics and for good reason. The wine is structured and rich, full bodied and harmonic.
The wine is still young and will drink best after 2020.
Robert Parker- 95 Points
"As usual, the 2005 Branaire-Ducru is one of the more distinctive wines of St.-Julien. Proprietor Patrick Maroteaux has turned out another classic. While not as opulent or fleshy as the 2003, and it remains to be seen if it will eclipse the 2000, …

Margaux 3rd Growth Classification
The 2005 Chateau Ferriere is now in its optimum drinking window. The smallest property of all the Cru Classs, this little-known estate has become one of the best kept secrets in the Medoc. This is partly down to the fact that it was, until very recently, distributed exclusively in France. With its high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon this is reminiscent of a mini-Ch. Margaux in style. It has excellent concentration and is quite masculine for a Margaux yet polished.

91 Points - Parker
"This forward-styled 2005 possesses a dense ruby/purple color in addition to a big, sweet bouquet of roasted herbs, fudge, espresso, figs, and cherry jam. Opulent, even decadent, with low acidity, but high glycerin and fruit extract as well as a flamboyant fleshiness, this is a stunningly impressive, hedonistic, savory Margaux to enjoy between 2010-2025." Sauternes HALF BOTTLE 37.5cl
The 2005 Guiraud is very tight on the nose, taking time to unfurl, with notes of apricot, peach, a touch of honeysuckle and quince. Good definition. The palate is impressive. tightly coiled, honeyed fruit, very fine acidity, linear at first then fanning out across the finish with notes of dried apricot, nectarine, a touch of almond and a faint hint of spice. With good length and unctuous on the finish, this Guiraud is impossible to ignore. Drink from 2015 to 2030+

The 2005 is one of the finest efforts from this property in over twenty years. A blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, the wine’s dense plum/purple colour is followed by smoky aromas of incense, blue fruits as well as black currants, cedar, and a hint of dried herbs. Medium-bodied, moderately tannic, savoury, and concentrated.

Cru Bourgeois, St Estephe
The 2005 le Boscq has a nice red fruit and sweet tobacco nose. It has a great palate, fruity, tannic well-balanced. This is an excellent Cru Bourgeois from an excellent vintage - a slight hint of green/herb that is just enough to add interest to the whole, and ensure a continued evolution of complexity.

Margaux 3rd Growth Classification
The 2005 Marquis d'Alsme Becker is pouring deep brick red, the delicate aroma of dark forest fruit tells you that you have a Margaux in your hand. Full bodied, but not heavy, this is a complex blend of grapes and flavours that has nothing going against it. Not as harsh as some Margaux’s are, this wine needs to be savoured in the mouth to explore its full taste.

St Julien 4th Growth Classification
An outstanding 90 Point wine. Robert Parker writes of this wine..."A strong effort for Talbot, the 2005 is more showy and forward than most wines of this vintage. While there is plenty of tannin, it is sweet and well-concealed behind an intriguing bouquet of sweet herbs, licorice, smoked game, black currants, and cherries. This fleshy, medium to full-bodied St.-Julien exhibits a silky sweetness to its texture and tannins". Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020+.
